Place Found 04:58
Place Found If we pray in real time Then the gods will tap the beat And if the rain can’t pass to sunshine We’ll all wash down the street Standing straight or leaning sideways Always keeping time We’ve tied our fate to endless highways And nothing really rhymes If radios were silenced And screens all fade to black If the kings do need our guidance Then we better phone them back Holding straight or twisted sideways To a place we can’t exceed We’ve wrapped our arms on soothing byways And this is all we need. Reach. Hope. Touch. Stroke. Run. Glide. Lift. Hide. Walk. Home. White. Bones. Lay. Down. Place. Found. I heard you say “it’s our time” as you hummed this melody And I just thought “it’s high time” As I helped you to your feet You hardly said this was a dance And I don’t really mind But where it is we find romance Is never quite aligned Reach. Hope. Touch. Stroke. Run. Glide. Lift. Hide. Walk. Home. White. Bones. Lay. Down. Place. Found.

Tell Me You Can Feel It Tell Me You Can Feel It Hibernate in your cave Damp cold in that tunnel Afraid you might misbehave What is normal anyway It's been so long since you huddled Taught yourself to stay away Scared of looking lost befuddled I tell ya they can't see it Walk on out Blinding light Feel the warmth Feel it Feel it Oh, oh Tell me you can feel it Tell me you can feel it more Reach inside Deep inside There are things you truly love There are things you truly want In your deep dark quiet moments What have you discovered? What gives you heat What makes you feel the passion Dive in Let the cascade fall on you Water falls on you Tell me you can feel it Tell me you can feel it more Tell me you can feel it Tell me you can feel it more

Heart Shaped Soul Rising up without making a sound Tippy toeing upstairs to write it all down So as never gonna forget That far away town Broken people, divided city I got to speak my peace while lying on the ground Finding my wrists tightly bound Heart shaped soul Walks blood stained rain Scream their names Scream their names Even though created in my head It comes from reality A swimming sensation The vast subconscious working overtime thinking I got to get back help a love that’s sinking Heart shaped soul Walks blood stained rain Scream their names Scream their names Snap back begin again What’s that you’re saying friend? We share a lot

She asked me, “what is that you’re reading?” I said, “a mighty old book.” She motioned come a little closer And tell me what the author cook I said, “he might have mixed some medicine out of blood and bones and dirt. You can have some of my portion, I swear it won’t even hurt.” And as for my story, as for my dream You can tell me what it means She leaned over and kissed me Just above the brow I asked her how that fixes anything All the hiding and the how We paused and we noticed the lightening Like a signal from above Are we in some kinda trouble? With the eyes that speak of love And as for my story, as for my dream You can tell me what it means She screamed, “yours is a made up story, one of imagination, nothing but an allegory. Lessons lost in bought sensation, Out the window of distraction We could see it clearly up the street There was a child riding a unicycle Peddling with bare feet And as for my story, as for my dream Please tell me what it means She had a puddle of lost expression About wonder of why she was riding there And as we looked into the distance There came electric blinding glare Suddenly the pane was shattered We were yanked out on a string And sucked into the pages Another storyteller’s thing A tale that must have already been written You can tell me what it means At least it was dictated to a scribe All wrapped and bowed and well described And then all of a sudden The journey took a turn There was a new cast of characters Was there something more That we could learn To be honest it seemed quite random I mean maybe we could suss it out Or maybe it’s just psychedelic That puts the whole damn thing in doubt There was a one-eyed juggling panda bear With a patch upon that eye A broken glass kaleidoscope Formed a prehistoric fly The ice cream truck says softee But it’s coming out as dry The stern-faced owl with the twisted scowl Is only selling pie And as for my story, as for my dream You can tell me what it means And as for my story, as for my dream You can tell me what it means

Walkin" Hand in Hand The locomotive is quite devoted To circling around the ceiling I ask the waiter how much later They'll be serving eggs and bacon Because I'm shakin' I shouldn't have started the morning this way But I doubt all black coffee Will make this feeling go away What I'm worryin' about my friend Is that she won't let me in again And all I really want is to be walkin' hand in hand As I get up to pay what's due to them They recognize me as a regular I see they're quite concerned that I am talking But there isn't anybody there I'm sure That somewhere you are listening 'Cause I'm sure All I want is to be walking hand in hand Believe me I'm always thankful God how patient you have been Won't you please help me back again I say tomorrow is the beginning I know I'm lucky not to be finished I hope that someday soon when we're sharing that room And I've earned back some of your trust In me Can't you see That I'm new again 'Cause all I ever want is to walk with you hand in hand The only addiction is to walk with you hand in hand

Fixer Upper 04:01
Fixer Upper I’ll admit the corners are a little bit dusty And the pipes just a little bit rusty The upholstery could use a good dark dye job A good hose-down will get rid of that musty I’ll be your fixer upper I swear I clean up real nice l be your fixer upper Listen to all your advice l be your fixer upper Sand off all those tattered edges l be your fixer upper It’ll be smooth sailing from now on Well the shelves are pretty well stocked Although they seldom match the feets are mighty well socked Good god almighty you best believe always got something sweet And you’ll the living the goodness is pretty well locked I’ll be your fixer upper I’ll be your fixer upper I’ll be your fixer upper A house is not a home A home is nothin’ Without the love Love, love I’ll be your fixer upper I swear I clean up real nice l be your fixer upper Listen to all your advice l be your fixer upper Sand off all those tattered edges l be your fixer upper It’ll be smooth sailing from now on I’ll be your fixer upper I’ll be your fixer upper I’ll be your fixer upper

Mr. Solo 06:02
Mr. Solo He sits reading alone In a candle lit house Cold hardwood and stone A bit unrelated He eats his Mom's marmalade And she's been gone for years Dines at a table for one A dusty old bottle Uncorked just for fun How much celebration Without a relation to anyone? Solo, Mr. Solo Why don't you try something new? Avoiding getting hurt again No more deep disappointment And never thinking About listing next of kin Let 'em in No more, no more, no more no Solo, Mr. Solo Why don't you try something new?

Miracle Shuffle In the end your behavior felt petty and mean Or so it seemed to me And I realize how disappointing and quite disjointed Our love affair had become People change over time What once was tight Now frayed untwined Something in between had jammed itself We’re busting at the seams I said some things that I regret I’d like to wager a bet that you understand It was out of hurt you see People change over time What once was tight Now frayed untwined When something simple Now ready to crack When’d we take that wrong turn ‘Cause I wanna go back How ‘bout you? It’s a miracle shuffle A swinging blue Was a miracle shuffle At the very start Like a miracle shuffle Trial and mortion Knowing any time It could fall apart

Stockholm 04:19
Stockholm I developed that syndrome I fell in love while you held me at bay But it’s fading away Fading away ‘cause Everybody needs darkness some of the time Eight hundred years of spirits Roam the cathedral A plague of great rage Stole the souls of so many children A razor shaped spire That pierces your heart What proof can you show me? How can you convince me? I have faith in the things and people I can touch and feel And see with my own two eyes In a city that seldom surprises anyone I doubt there is reason that you can demonstrate To make me change my mind What proof, what can you show me? I have faith in the things I can touch and see with my own two eyes

about

For their third full-length album, Von Doodle Daddies blurs the line between what the subconscious mind weaves during dreams and what dreaming while awake leads to in reality.

Jeff Burris and Bob Appel can't be nailed down to a pat style, but there is a thread running through all of it. From anthem to shuffle, Kaleidoscope Dream drives down a road on which the listener passes the scenery of urban challenges, thru the challenges of two people riding together, the state that lies right in between consciousness and slumber, and finally from despair to being proactive with one's contentment.

Take the ride with us.

Von Doodle Daddies San Francisco, California

Hailing from the foggy hills of San Francisco, Von Doodle Daddies is an old school rock and roll group with a new global purview. Born out of the isolation of a global pandemic, a world in which artist need to speak up, and the shared belief that music heals, this band of life-long rockers is ready to break out, with cause, from the depths of a studio and into the public eye. ... more
